How Tuck & Teacup Developed

When my daughter was born, my son was 2 years old. One of the biggest challenges was helping my toddler figure out how to handle a baby. We took a trip to the ER once because
he was jumping and jumped right down on the baby's belly full force. Once, he was stacking wooden blocks and swatted them and hit my daughter in the head with a block. He wanted to play "big" things with his new baby and it was a challenge to help him understand that he needed to do gentle things with baby. He loved his baby and baby LOVED him. He learned to be gentle most of the time, but that was kind of my first big challenge as having two kids and I thought that maybe other parents and children are trying to figure this out too, so the adventures of Tuck, Teacup and Trixie were born.
The names...Teacup is our little dog that is part Maltese and part Dachshund. Tuck became my son's name (a combo of Buck and "T"urkey because my son likes to hunt) and Trixie was cute and went with the other names. :)
I feel so blessed to be able to share the story and I really hope that a child will enjoy it and find it helpful in their situation. My hopes are to continue writing stories that share in the same line of being able to help a child navigate their situation. I have a few stories that I am writing in my head right now and I'll get them down on paper soon.
"Tuck and Teacup Get a Baby" is published and available for purchase at Amazon and Barnes & Noble.
