What Makes You Scared?

We had an adventure with this big fella yesterday. As he was grazing in the yard with us standing next to him, this very loud ear screeching sound came through the woods and startled him. Horses feel like prey, so they flee. Well, his flee lead him through the woods and out onto the main road. We had to stop traffic as he proudly galloped down the center of the road on the yellow line like he was in a parade. Finally, he turned around (maybe he realized he didn’t know where he was at that point) and headed back down the road, turned into a neighbors driveway (realized he was lost again) bolted like lightning past Andy and I back to the road and ended up going back to our driveway and into his pasture. Praise God that he and nobody were hurt and there wasn’t lots of traffic at the moment from the opposite side as he was headed because we couldn’t see beyond him as it was up a hill a bit.
Buddy was so scared that he couldn’t even see that we were there to help him. I guess he thought we were fleeing too. So, I started thinking about Buddy and how we are like him sometimes. We let our fears cripple us. We just want to RUN away. God doesn’t give us a spirit of fear, but a sound mind. Stop - put your trust in the Lord - and let him wrap you in the safe feeling that only he can provide. Yes, we will want to flee situations, but rest assured that God is in control and put your trust in him that he has it all covered. You don’t have to flee... just rest in his embrace. 🙏
“The fear of man brings a snare, But whoever trusts in the LORD shall be safe.”
Proverbs 29:25 NKJV
